About Kip

So the one question I keep getting asked by people who’ve just read Reverb is about Kip. As in, will and when will he be getting a story.

Answer: I don’t know.

Honestly. I’m not trying to be coy or cute. I really don’t know. All I can say is that if I did decide to write a sequel, it’d definitely be about Kip. I don’t think I have more to add about Nick and Marlowe themselves but I agree that Kip could be fun to follow. He showed up in my head at the exact same time that Nick and Marlowe did and I knew he’d be integral to the story. But Kip is being close-mouthed about his relationships and hasn’t yet revealed a full story to me.

There’s also the fact that Reverb really did take a lot out of me. Those who’ve read it know that it’s twice as long as my normal story and very much of a different feel than, say, Heaven Sent. I’m proud of what I did but I’m finding it slow going bouncing back.

So, given that I often do write sequels to my stories, it’s a good bet that I’ll probably write Kip’s story sometime. But I’m so very far behind on other projects — Leashed 4, for example — at the moment, I can’t see it happening very soon. I’m very sorry if that’s disappointing to some of you.

Bless you for wanting more!

EXCERPT – Reverb

ReverbReleased May 12, 2011 from MLR Press.

Pairing: m/m

Available in ebook from MLR Press

Available in ebook from ARe

Available in ebook and print from Amazon

Nick and Marlowe aren’t like my other rockers. Not really. A little grittier. This series doesn’t gloss over the presence of drugs in the world of rock and roll.

Don’t let the mention of girls at the beginning of the excerpt fool you. Both Marlowe and Nick are bisexual — Marlowe knowingly, Nick is the gay-for-you — but all the sex in the book is m/m.

BLURB

Sex. Drugs. Rock ‘n Roll. Nick Gorman’s got it all. He’s on top of the world, living his dream, playing guitar on stage in front of thousands of people with non-other than Marlowe. The famous singer could have had his choice of anyone to replace his former guitarist, but he picked Nick to tour with him. Now Nick’s star is on the rise, all thanks to Marlowe, who’s not only Nick’s idol but is fast becoming a terrific friend.

In the blink of an eye, it all turns upside down. A drug-hazed time in a bed alone with Marlowe forces Nick to be aware that the rock star’s interest in him is more than just friendly. Then, before he can even react to that, both singer and guitarist are in a near-fatal accident that could ruin both their careers.

What now? Marlowe’s in jail for two years and Nick is broken. Could they ever play together again, let alone explore the sizzling reverberations that still exist between them?

Dance music filled Nick’s head, guiding the throb of his heart. His skin was alive, the merest brush of a breeze was like someone was licking his dick. Nick didn’t usually dance but the drugs in his system had him gyrating and twisting with dozens of other bodies underneath the streaks of a portable strobe light. Maybe he wasn’t so much dancing as just moving to the beat. That he could do. The very ground was pushing at the soles of his feet, making him move. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with his hands but a few willing girls were happy to give him nice handholds. In turn, they ran soft hands and curious fingers over his bare back and arms, some taking a bit more advantage to cup his ass or slide around front to brush the bulge of his half hard cock through his jeans. Gloriously free, Nick closed his eyes, twisted, turned then buried his face in a fragrant neck as his senses expanded beyond any scope of reality. Continue reading EXCERPT – Reverb

New Images & New Gallery

For better or for worse, I’m making my new online gallery live.

http://artwork.jetmykles.com/

It’s done in ZenPhoto. I don’t like the theme but I can’t change it. Don’t have access to the files. I’m hoping Dreamhost will update that in the future. Until then, the theme will do. There’s also no link back to the main site, but I’ll see what I can do about that.

On the upside, it should be easier to search. Images are tagged. Commenting is certainly more streamlined and precise. Now you can even rate images.

Plus, there’s a few new images in the 2011 gallery

Update

So, I sucked keeping in touch in March. Pretty much in February too. I’m trying to be better for April. But before the month ends, here’s a quick low down.

Reverb was sent to my editor today. She estimates that it should be out sometime in May. I’m going to try and get an excerpt and blurb up in the next week or so.

I’m going to be at the RT Convention the weekend of April 6-10. I won’t be there everyday but I’m on a panel at 2:45 on Friday and I’ll signing books on Saturday. I’ll should have Heaven Sent (1st print, so Heaven and Purgatory) and Dark Elves: Taken (so Taken and Mastered). Never done the signing before so it should be an adventure.

My next project is another Santa’s elves story. Yes, I know I promised Leashed 4 but Toys for Good Girls (working title) should be short and sweet and I need something light after the hell Reverb put me through. If you can’t tell by the title, this Santa’s elves story will be m/f. Bok’s story. Sorry, m/m fans but I do write girls and I miss it.

Then I’ll be diving into Leashed 4. I’m pretty sure. Meg and the boys have been talking and I think my having abandoned them at the beginning of last year scared them. Let’s hope they’re talking.

Some people have been asking about images. I have done some for 2011 but I’ve been waiting until I get my new gallery up and running. I really hate how my images are on the site now and I’m trying to find a way to fix it. Unfortunately, that means uploading all the images again and there was no import. I think I’m almost done. So maybe April will bring some new visual goodies as well.

Ummm… what else? Can’t think of anything. Questions?

Finished Reverb Rough Draft

I don’t usually post about these things, but this particular story has been kicking my ass so I’m going to hoot about it.

Just finished the first rough draft for Reverb. WOOOT!

This is my longest to date. At present, it’s just over 80,000 words. I believe it’s my longest story to date.

My work’s not done, of course. Now I’ve got to go back and polish it up. This one’s going to take a lot of polish, I know, because it took me most of the book to really figure out what was happening. Ah, the joys of writing by the seat of my pants. But I know the story now so that’s a relief. Now I need to make all the nit-picky details go with it.

Not sure when it’ll be out. Not sure when it can fit into the MLR Press release schedule. My own fault for that, not them. I was scared to commit until I had the story down. But it should be out sometime this year.

I’ll try and get at least a blurb on the site sometime in March. Until then, I can tell you the guys on the cover are Marlowe — taller one — and Nick.
