Today I’ve got a guest post on A.O. Chika’s Book Blog about re-using my Heaven Sent characters in the Rose Family Chronicles.

  1. I for one am thrilled that you are recycling the Heaven Sent characters! I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the Rose Family Chronicles and am eagerly looking forward to more books in the series. I love the first set of books so much that if I were reading and rereading them in print I’d have worn them out by now! Although I do have the ones that were published in print as well as the digital versions.

I understand what you are saying about conflict. I was an elementary school teacher. When I was teaching both reading and writing I discussed this often with my students. (We also discussed the irony that while conflict was desirable in stories, it was strictly forbidden at school.) I don’t want to see our happy Heaven Sent couples engaged in conflict even knowing you’d give us a happy ending. In fact just knowing they’d end up staying happy would make the story fall flat. And I certainly don’t want to see situations where they would cheat on each other! My guess is this is the most obvious conflict that would happen.

Are you possibly considering doing the same thing with the Indigo Knights boys? Or having them show up in the Rose Family Chronicles? Or both?

Thank you for giving me many enjoyable reading hours with both these series and the other things you write. I have a very painful disease and when I’m at my worst your writings are one of the things I turn to to take my mind off the pain.

I’m looking forward to your next book.

    1. Hi Pamela,
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed RFC Valet.
I think the boys from the Knights will show up in the RFC series, but I’m not sure if they’d get their own books. Maybe some short stories. We’ll have to see how it goes.
I’m so glad I could give you a few moments away from the pain. I’m honored to be able to do so.
